“So it Goes”

The independent and alternative artist Typho released his newest single, “So it Goes” on September 29. The UK-based singer is known for using synthesizers to develop his signature sound. This track follows two other singles, “Cave Paintings” and “Globe,” both released this year. His lyrics are always introspective, and “So it Goes” contemplates life constantly moving all around us.

Typho aims to capture the essence of a nighttime walk, and successfully hits that nail on the head. Soft and gentle harmonies offer a pillow against Typho’s laid-back and indie vocals. The acoustic guitar plays a prominent role, bringing the rhythm and marrying the harmonies with the melody. A theremin joins in during the chorus, which is a clever and interesting choice. It brings a bit of that unsettling unknown that comes with the dark of night. Overall, the instrumental effect is hazy, but the vocal melody cuts through like a lighthouse. The track is truly unique, and even though it is over five minutes, the nature of it allows the listener to drift, and time just passes by.
